West Virginia Division of Natural Resources to Participate in the Charleston Hunting and Fishing Show January 26-28

West Virginia Division of Natural Resources staff will be scoring deer antlers for hunters during the West Virginia Trophy Hunters Association's 2007 Hunting and Fishing Show at the Charleston Civic Center, according to Curtis I. Taylor, Chief of the Division of Natural Resources' Wildlife Resources Section. The show begins Friday, January 26 and continues through Sunday, January 28.

"Staff will be available at the DNR booth to answer questions about the state's wildlife resources and hunting and fishing, and they will score deer antlers for those hunters who bring their racks to the show at the listed times," said Taylor.

Biologists will score deer racks only at the following times: Friday, January 26, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, January 27, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, January 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hunters wishing to have deer racks scored must first register with the Trophy Hunters Association representative at the show.

"Visitors attending the show are encouraged to visit the DNR booth," Taylor said. "This is a good opportunity to meet DNR staff members and learn more about the fish and wildlife recreational opportunities in West Virginia. We extend our thanks to the show sponsors, the West Virginia Trophy Hunters Association, for providing us the opportunity to participate in this year's show."
