PAT Requirements

Upper Body Strength

Must be able to complete 18 properly executed push-ups within one minute.

Aerobic Power (1.5 Mile Run)

Must be able to complete the 1.5 mile run within 14 minutes, 36 seconds.

Muscular Endurance

Must be able to complete 28 properly executed sit-ups within one minute.

Swimming Test

Must be able to swim 37 ½ yards fully clothed. Street clothes (long pants and shirt) must be worn. Sweat pants or jogging suits are not permitted. Facilities will be available for applicants to change into appropriate clothing for the remainder of the tests after swimming.

Applicants must also complete a psychological evaluation and meet the medical requirements as stated in the Law Enforcement Standards which are found at the link below before receiving an offer of employment.

PAT Testing

Interviews for those applicants that passed the PAT and the written DOP test will be conducted on March 23 and 24 with times and location to be announced at the PAT. DOP will be conducting their test on March 18 and 19 after the PAT, at location, at around 12pm each day as part of the PAT testing process.

Walk-ons will be accepted.
