Here’s a few important things to remember as you prepare for the season:

  1. Carry your hunter education card and hunting license.
  2. Shooting hours are 1/2 hour before sunrise until 1/2 hour after sunset.
  3. Only 1 either-sex turkey may be taken during the fall season.
  4. Check your harvested game at www.wvhunt.com.
  5. For more information about the season, check the 2019-2020 West Virginia Hunting Regulations

Select counties across West Virginia will also be open for turkey hunting later in October and into November, so there are plenty of opportunities to bag your bird. Review the Hunting and Trapping Regulations or check the map below to see when you can hunt turkey in your county.

We hope you enjoy safe and successful hunting adventures this year. And don’t forget to share your hunting photos with us on social media by using the hashtag #wvhunt.
