40,700 pounds of trout stocked in 38 waters throughout West Virginia

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.VA. — Over the last two weeks, more than 40,000 pounds of trout were stocked in 38 waters throughout West Virginia. The final trout stocking of the year took place on Friday, Oct. 29.

Each of the following waters were stocked twice during the fall trout stocking period: 

Anglers should expect ideal trout fishing conditions to continue for several weeks, especially in larger streams and lakes where the trout have more room to disperse. Stocking dates and locations can be found online at WVdnr.gov.

While fishing for trout in West Virginia, all anglers 15 and older are required to have a West Virginia fishing license, trout stamp and valid form of identification.
