Find the perfect gift for the outdoor lover in your life with a purchase from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources or West Virginia State Parks. Most items in our 2020 holiday gift guide can be purchased online or by phone, so you can complete your holiday shopping from home.

Wildlife Calendar

Looking for an affordable gift that is both practical and lovely to look at? The 2021 West Virginia Wildlife Calendar features gorgeous, full-color paintings of native wildlife, important hunting and fishing dates, peak wildlife activity times and engaging articles. Each calendar purchase also helps fund WVDNR programs that protect threatened and endangered species and their habitats.

Online orders must be placed by Dec. 4 to ensure delivery by Christmas. You also can purchase a calendar at select retail locations around the state. Get your copy today while supplies last.

West Virginia Souvenirs

Many state park and forest gift shops carry a wide variety of West Virginia-made products and collectibles, including apparel, glassware, handcrafted merchandise, art, books and locally made treats and snacks. For a unique holiday shopping experience, visit the new gift shop at Kanawha State Forest or the seasonal Christmas Shoppe at Hawks Nest State Park.

To find other park gift shops near you or for information about store hours, call 1-833-WV-PARKS. Please note that all WVDNR facilities, including state park gift shops, require face masks to be worn while inside, in accordance with the indoor mask mandate in effect throughout West Virginia. Social distancing also is strongly encouraged.

Hunting and Fishing License

If you have a family member or friend who enjoys hunting and fishing, you can gift them a West Virginia hunting and fishing license. If the recipient has previously held a license, all you need is the recipient’s name and date of birth. If the recipient has never had a license before, you may need additional information to establish an account, such as social security number or driver’s license number.

If you want to give a gift that keeps giving year after year, consider giving a lifetime hunting, trapping and fishing license. To purchase a lifetime license (or an annual license) as a gift, call the WVDNR Licensing team at 304-558-2758.

State Park Gift Cards

If you can’t decide what to get your loved one, give them a West Virginia State Park gift card, which can be used at any state park or forest for lodge room stays, cabin and cottage rentals, camping, gift shop purchases, dining, golf green fees, golf season passes and more.

Gift cards, available online in amounts ranging from $25 to $500, make a great stocking stuffer or can be slipped into a greeting card as a special surprise.
