Turn your harvest into hope and help feed families in need this holiday season. Donate a deer or make a financial contribution to the WVDNR’s Hunters Helping the Hungry Program today! Every dollar you give goes directly toward processing and distributing venison to West Virginians in need.
How Hunters Helping the Hungry Works
Donate Online
You can make a donation of any amount by visiting our Electronic Licensing System. Sign into your account or make a donation through our Express Checkout. Just make sure you add HHH – 2025 Hunter’s Helping the Hungry to your cart.
Donate Deer
Drop off your legally harvested deer at a certified participating processor. They’ll handle all processing and storage until the venison is picked up by our partners at the Mountaineer Food Bank in Gassaway and Facing Hunger Foodbank in Huntington.

Governor’s One Shot
The Governor’s One Shot Committee coordinates this annual invitational deer hunt each fall, which has raised more than $600,000 the Hunters Helping the Hungry program and the Mountaineer Food Bank.
Share the Harvest Sunday
During Share the Harvest Sunday (the first Sunday in November) the West Virginia Council of Churches invites more than 3,000 congregations to give generously to support Hunters Helping the Hungry.
Hunters Helping the Hungry Meat Processors
Processors certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture or the West Virginia Department of Agriculture can participate. To register, contact Kimberly Linger at 304-924-6211 or email kimberly.s.linger@wv.gov with your certification. Processors are reimbursed $3 per pound of processed venison.
