64th Annual West Virginia Wildflower Pilgrimage

May 7-10, 2026

The Wildflower Pilgrimage is a special project of the West Virginia Garden Club, Inc., co-sponsored by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. Additional support is provided by West Virginia University, the Brooks Bird Club, and colleges across West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia.

A Nature Lover’s Weekend at Blackwater Falls

Held at Blackwater Falls State Park in Tucker County, the Wildflower Pilgrimage offers a weekend filled with birding, wildflower identification and expert-led nature workshops and tours. With scenic trails and diverse flora and fauna, it’s a paradise for nature lovers.

Arrive early on Thursday to take part in workshops for beginners, including wildflower identification, nature photography, fern identification and birding. Evening programs feature engaging speakers on a variety of nature-related topics.

On Friday and Saturday, participants can enjoy one guided tour per day. All tours depart from the park lodge and are led by knowledgeable experts who will help identify plants, birds and other natural wonders. While some tours may be better suited for adults, families are encouraged to attend and make the event a shared experience.
